Manage color schemes
On this page you can manage the color schemes. You can add/edit/remove color schemes.
Types
There are 3 types of color schemes selectable:
- Sequential
- Diverging
- Qualitative
Sequential
In a sequential color scheme the colors are running from light to dark or vice versa.
They are mainly used in choropleth maps with numbers or average values.
Diverging
In a diverging color scheme the colors are running from a middle value to 2 contrasting colors.
They are used among others for Z-scores and growth figures.
Qualitative
Qualitative color schemes are used among others by bar charts and enumeration indicators in a map.
The colors are in principle independent of each other and therefore do not run into each other.
They don't indicate a number but a 'quality'.
Add a color scheme
If you add a color scheme, you can define:
- Name
- Type
- Fixed number of colors
- Number of colors
Fixed number of colors
If enabled, only the defined colors will be used and the first n colors will be used.
If disabled, Swing will define intermediate colors based on the existing colors and pick the colors within the range.
Qualitative color schemes are usually fixed, and Sequential and Diverging basically not.
