Publish Studio

Publish

On this page both Studio and Mosaic can be published. On the left, the corresponding sections are shown which can be published:

• Data/Viewer/Layout(Viewer); the Swing Viewer database, containing all the data and lay-out settings.
• Accounts; the user database, containing all the user accounts. Users are defined in the user table of Studio (Accounts > Users).
• Mosaic; themes, tiles and settings (optional) of Swing Mosaic. Different mosaics can be published separately.
• Stories; chapters, tiles and settings (optional) of Swing Stories. Different Stories can be published separately.

On the 'Admin' column one can select the desired section to be published to either the Accept version or both Accept and Live versions. In addition, the corresponding version date is shown and the test version can be opened in a new tab by clicking on the View button. The 'Accept' column shows the date of the last sections published from the 'Admin' version, the Accept version is useful for testing purposes before publishing the changes to the Live version. The 'Live' column shows the version date of the Live version, and a 'View' button to display the Live version in a new tab. To determine which section should be published, the version date of the Admin, Accept and Live version can be compared. Publishing an incomplete version could result in parts of the application not working correctly, e.g. publishing a Mosaic without the Swing Viewer database might result in a Mosaic lacking the most recent data.

After selecting the desired sections the actual publish process can be started. Initiate this process by clicking the arrow button in between the 'Admin' and the 'Accept' columns and confirming by clicking Publish. This process may take a few minutes and the accept version will be offline during that time. The popup window will show the status of the publish and will prompt a continue button whenever it's finished publishing. After the 'Accept' version is thoroughly tested and deemed acceptable for the live version, you can repeat this action by selecting the desired sections and clicking the arrow button in between the 'Accept' and 'Live' columns. If you wish, you can directly publish from the Admin version to both the Accept and Live versions by checking the "Publish to all versions" box in the popup window that opens while publishing from Admin to Accept.
