Dimensions

View and manage dimensions, which are used for cube data. 

The following actions can be performed: 

• Add records
• Sort and filter dimensions
• Export and import metadata
• Delete records

Dimension code

Each dimension must have a unique code.

Name

A name can be assigned to each dimension.

Note: HTML code is not allowed in the name field.

Sequence number

Specifies the order in which the dimension appears in the database.

Description

A description can be provided for each dimension. This is useful for administrators to include additional context or notes. Users can view the description via Subject Properties.

Formatting is supported using a limited set of HTML elements:

• <strong> of <b>
• <i>
• <u>
• <em>
• <p>
• <span>
• <h1> through <h6>

Since HTML is allowed in the description, make sure to use valid HTML syntax. Special characters like < and > must be encoded as (&lt;) and (&gt;).

More information

If additional information is available for a dimension, the administrator can provide a reference to an external HTML file. The file name must be entered in the More Information column.
